Headed tube compression limiters offer all of the benefits of the solid tube compression limiters plus the addition of a head. The head can be placed at the mating face to spread the induced load over a greater area, thus reducing the stress and preventing the compression limiter from indenting the mating surface. Headed parts are commonly used when the mating part is made of a soft material such as aluminium. The head can also be placed at the bolt face if a greater contact area with the plastic Is required.
